Child Sexual Abuse l

In this article, we see children potrayed as sexual objects. They are used to satisfy the sexual interests of debauched sexually depraved individuals. These innocent young victims are forced into sexual abuse and exploitation. I feel that this is a direct violation of human rights, furthermore this is children we are talking about. Children are weak, vulnerable and need guidance to live. By sexually abusing them , these sex offenders are instilling immense fear and scarring them for the rest of thier lives. The childern will think that sex is the norm since that what happens to them on a frequent basis. I belive that the government and the citizens can do so much more to protect these innocent victims. The parenst should keep an eye on their childern more, and the government can mete out heavier punishment ot these sex offenders to show to potential sex offenders that child sexual abuse is wrong and will be strongly dealt with.
In USA, we heard news of children missing everyday. What has the goevrnment and the parents been doing? As always, prevention is always the best cure. Parents can protect and keep an eye on the wherabouts of their children. The government can also prevent access to child pornogarpghy on the Net, like what the Media Authority of Singapore has done. This way, innocent childern can be protcted and child sexual abuse can be prevented :)

Personally, i feel that the UK authorities were very efficient when it comes to dealing with cyber-criminials. It is important for the government or authorities in every country to address the issue of child sexual abuse because it is a serious violation of human rights. By inflicting pain or embarrassment on children, it means that they have to grow up with it and this would in turn lead to psychological problems such as having fear towards adults.

The reason why i praised UK authorities efficiency in dealing with this matter is because it is very difficult to gather information about child sexual abuse. Firstly, the children themselves are likely to keep quiet about the matter (some may not even know that they were sexually abused). Secondly, it is difficult to catch a cyber-criminial red-handed, taking into consideration the dynamic internet and IT system. Cyber-criminal, like Cox, can simply delete all the files related to child sexual abuse, change IP address, and all the evidence would be gone. Thus, the authorities must be capable of arresting the cyber-criminal with all the evidence needed.

In the Singapore context, i believe that the authorities are also very efficiency in dealing with people who make use of the internet to stir up discontentment. One example would be the incident where 2 Singaporeans were arrested and charged for posting racist remarks on their blog. This incident proved Singapore's capability in controlling the cyber-outputs.

In conclusion, i believe that in order for child sexual abuse to be put to an end, families, schools and the government or related authorities must work together. Only then will our society be that truly values human rights of children.
